The Weeknd signs record deal, sets 'Trilogy' release date
R&B upstart The Weeknd has revealed he’s signed a record deal with Republic Records.
The man behind not one but three of our favourite mixtapes to have dropped over the past year, Abel Tesfaye will combine the trio of releases and put out the Trilogy compilation in physical form via his new label come 13 November.
The official statement reads as follows:
“The joint venture between Republic Records and the Canada-based XO sees The Weeknd’s vision preserved and magnified on a much larger scale. The XO initiative has grown from a small collective– with roots based in the metropolitan streets of Toronto– to a marquee business partner, and it will only evolve further within this structure.”
The release will consist of House Of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes Of Silence.
