Taylor Swift misses American Music Awards to continue re-recording older music
Taylor Swift, who won three awards at last night's American Music Awards, revealed in her acceptance speech video that she skipped the event to continue re-recording her earlier music.
Swift won Artist of the Year, Favourite Music Video (for "Cardigan"), and Favourite Female Artist at last night's (22 November) American Music Awards (AMAs), and during her acceptance speech video she revealed why she wasn't there in person to accept the awards.
The folklore singer said in her speech, "The reason I’m not there tonight is I’m actually re-recording all of my old music in the studio where we originally recorded it, so it’s been amazing and I can’t wait for you to hear it."
Last week Swift shared an update on her masters, revealing Scooter Braun had sold the master rights to her first six albums to a private equity company without her knowledge. In the same statement she confirmed that she had started re-recording her earlier music.
Yesterday (22 November) Swift shared a new image on Twitter with the caption, "not a lot going on at the moment." She previously posted the same caption on an Instagram post back in April, before the release of her surprise folklore album in July.
