Taylor Swift has removed the "spelling is fun" line from her "ME!" single featuring Brendon Urie.

Swift's single "ME!" that landed in April was the first from her new album Lover - which drops tomorrow - and around halfway through the song Swift yells, "Hey Kids! Spelling is fun!"

It was quite a bizarre lyric, and is seems as though Swift has noticed it too, as the Apple Music version of the track no longer features the cringey line. The video and Spotify version are yet to be updated.

Speaking to Hit Australia back in April, Swift said of the line, "So the lyrics, that’s a tone decision that we made in the studio. We literally were like, okay, let’s say 'Hey, kids! Spelling is fun' because we want everyone to know that this song is not really serious because it’s not, like, a serious love song."

Yesterday (21 August) reports revealed that Tracy Smith asked Swift on CBS Sunday Morning if she was going to re-record her earlier material after the Scooter Braun row, to which Swift replied, "Yeah, absolutely."

Taylor Swift's new album Lover lands tomorrow (23 August) via Republic.
