Slowthai removed from Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds Festival line-ups after rape charge
Following two charges of rape, Slowthai has been removed from the line-ups for both Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds Festivals.
The Grammy award and the Mercury Prize award-nominated artist appeared in court on two charges of rape, yesterday (16 May).
The 28-year-old appeared before Oxfordshire magistrates court via video link on Tuesday charged with oral and vaginal penetration of a woman without her consent in Oxford in September 2021.
He spoke only to confirm his real name of Tyron Frampton, date of birth, and an address in Northampton.
The prosecution lawyer Adam Yar Khan told the magistrates that the charge of rape was an indictable-only offence and the case must be heard at crown court. He has been put on bail and is due to appear before Oxford crown court next month.

Yesterday, he took to his socials to address the charges, asking people to "respect the process and privacy of my family during this time".
Neither Slowthai or organisers at both Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds have made official statements regarding the changes to the respective line-ups. However, the line-up posters on each festival's websites no longer feature the rapper’s name.
