Scooter Braun reveals he regrets how Taylor Swift's catalogue deal was handled
Scooter Braun has revealed he does have regrets regarding how Taylor Swift's catalogue deal was handled.
Back in 2019, Swift shared a Tumblr post about Scooter Braun after it was announced that he would be acquiring her previous master recordings after his Ithaca Holdings purchased Big Machine Records. The two ended up in an online feud for years, but this week Braun spoke about how he regrets how the deal was handled.
"The regret I have there is that I made the assumption that everyone - once the deal was done - was going to have a conversation with me, see my intent, see my character and say, ‘Great, let’s be in business together'," Braun said. "And I made that assumption with people that I didn’t know."
He continued, "And I learned an important lesson from that: that I can never make that assumption again. I can’t put myself in a place of, you know, arrogance to think that someone would just be willing to have a conversation and be excited to work with me."
