Release date brought forward for first Wicked film starring Ariana Grande
The first Wicked film - which stars Ariana Grande and was due to arrive in December 2024 - will now arrive around Thanksgiving.
In April last year Wicked film director Jon M Chu shared a statement announcing that the film, based on the Tony-winning musical of the same name, would be split into two films, with the first one due to arrive in December 2024, but according to Variety, the first film has been brought forward to Thanksgiving 2024.
Ariana Grande will play Galinda the Good Witch, while the Oscar-nominated Erivo will star as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba.
Wicked will be Grande's first acting role since 2021's Netflix film Don't Look Up.
Last month Grande reunited with The Weeknd on a new remix of "Die For You".
The first Wicked film is due to arrive in cinemas on 27 November 2024.
