Prince's Purple Rain to be remastered and re-released with unheard material
Warner Bros. have announced that they will be releasing a remastered, deluxe edition of Purple Rain, in line with Prince's wishes before he passed away - a parting gift to the fans.
The new album Purple Rain is to include "a second album of previously unreleased material" according to a press release.
Warner Bros. have also announced a new Prince greatest hits album called Prince4Ever, which will include one previously unheard track called "Moonbeam Levels", outlining writers' block and a subsequent apocalypse.
Details of the new album are thin, with a press release stating that full details will be revealed "early next year"; it is safe to say that Prince's "vault" of thousands of unreleased music is set to gradually emerge over the coming months.
Prince4Ever will have 40 tracks on it, and is out 22 November, whilst the new edition of Purple Rain is set to be released in early 2017.
