NSYNC reunite for first time in a decade to present the VMA for Best Pop to Taylor Swift
All five members of *NSYNC — Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and JC Chasez — reunited onstage for the first time in a decade at the 2023 MTV VMAs on Tuesday evening.
Earlier this week, fans began speculating that *NSYNC would link up at the 2023 VMAs when Timberlake, Fatone, and Bass were all spotted around New York City. The last *NSYNC reunion was in 2013 for Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award medley, at the MTVA VMAs, where they performed their hits “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye”.
The group reunited to present the award for Best Pop, which went to Taylor Swift. As the band came to the stage, the camera panned to Swift who was in fan-girl mode. As she accepted the award, her excitement was off the charts. “I had your dolls,” she exclaimed.
"What are you doing now? Are you doing something?” she then asked the group. “They’re gonna do something and I need to know what it is! You’re pop personified so to receive this from your golden pop hands is really too much.” If anyone is to know about surprise releases and appearances, it is Swift, after all.
It has been reported that *NSYNC have recorded new music for the upcomingTrolls Band Together soundtrack. Posters for the film were put up around New York, featuring the “N” of *NSYNC’s classic logo, along with a QR code that lets you listen to a trolls-esque tune.
The MTV VMAs took place yesterday evening, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
