Neil Young says "lost" 1982 album Johnny's Island is "coming to you soon"
Neil Young has announced that a "lost" album recorded in 1982 called Johnny's Island will be "coming to you soon".
Over the past year Neil Young has been clearing out his archives, and after releasing "lost" album Homegrown last summer, Young has announced the release of another "lost" album called Johnny's Island.
While Homegrown was recorded in 1974 and 1975, Johnny's Island was recorded in 1982 at Commercial Recorders in Honolulu, Hawaii with the same team as 1982's Trans album.
The announcement on his Neil Young Archives site read, "Johnny’s Island a complete album now being prepared for release at NYA, includes a majority of unreleased tracks including "Big Pearl", "Island In The Sun", and "Love Hotel", plus others you may have heard before.. it’s a beautiful record coming to you soon."
A specific release date for Johnny's Island is yet to be announced. According to Billboard, a representative for Young told them that "due to demand from fans, we do have a very aggressive release schedule from Neil this year."
