Kanye West's Donda 2 album isn't eligible for Billboard Chart placement
Billboard has announced that Kanye West's Donda 2 album, released exclusively via his Stem Player, fails "to meet Billboard's chart eligibility requirements."
After releasing his Donda 2 album exclusively through his $200 "Stem Player" last month, it's been revealed that the album will not appear on any Billboard charts, as it fails "to meet Billboard's chart eligibility requirements."
Billboard reports that Ye's release strategy for Donda 2 falls under its 2020 merchandise bundle policy, which makes albums sold with merchandise ineligible for Billboard chart placement.
Ye's first Stem Player was launched with last year's Donda album for $200, and allowed users to "customise any songs" from the album with vocal, drum, bass and sample controls, as well as the ability to isolate parts, add effects and split any songs into stems.
Last week the final act of Coodie & Chike's jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy documentary landed on Netflix.
