Finneas apologises and thanks fans for "holding me accountable" over tweet about young creatives
Finneas has apologised and thanked fans for "holding me accountable" for a tweet he posted earlier this week with advice for young creatives.
On Sunday (23 February), Finneas posted some advice for young creatives on Twitter, ""Shooting your shot" is promoted widely and I think honestly, it’s a little overrated. Work super hard alone or with your closest friends. Make shit so good it speaks for itself. Don’t pester people to work with you, let them come to you."
He received criticism for the tweet, with many mentioning his upbringing in a family of two actor parents and having Billie Eilish as his sister.
Last night (25 February), Finneas deleted the original tweet, and posted a new tweet to apologise how it came across. He writes, "It came from a place of privilege and arrogance on my part."
He adds, "I’m sorry to anyone I disappointed or offended. I appreciate those who called me out on it, thank you for holding me accountable."
Deleted that tweet because it became clear to me that it came from a place of privilege and arrogance on my part. I’m sorry to anyone I disappointed or offended. I appreciate those who called me out on it, thank you for holding me accountable.
