Donald Trump thanks Chance The Rapper, says he "really get[s] it"
Chance The Rapper, while wading into the big Kanye x Trump fiasco/bromance this week, has caught the eye of the US President.
A lot of musicians and former collaborators haven't been particularly impressed by Kanye's decision to go full MAGA, but some have been less overtly critical - including Cyhi The Prince and Chance The Rapper.
Ye and Chance, both Chicago natives, have actually been in contact during the former's latest period of controversy, and the latter caught some flak himself from his response to the situation.
Talked to him two days ago. He’s in a great space and not affected by folk tryna question his mental or physical health. Same Ye from the Vmas, same Ye from the telethon. https://t.co/2zY3KpllV2

Chance is a staunch Obama supporter and has been very critical of Trump in the past, but that's not stopped Trump sensing an opportunity to score some points:
Kanye West has performed a great service to the Black Community - Big things are happening and eyes are being opened for the first time in Decades - Legacy Stuff! Thank you also to Chance and Dr. Darrell Scott, they really get it (lowest Black & Hispanic unemployment in history).

Chance isn't actually that keen on being praised by the President though:
My name Bennett and I aint in it

It's been a long week for Kanye fans - there are a million and one things to dive into if you've managed to avoid the whole situation thus far - but it looks like these past few days are probably just the tip of the iceberg, especially if Trump and his cabal need him for another photo op.
