D'Angelo to release new album and tour in 2014
The wait for a new D’Angelo record has been a long one, 14 years to be exact. But now it appears that a new album will indeed be released this year.
Footage surfaced back in January of the R&B musician recording said LP and now his manager Kevin Liles has vowed that it is “definitely” coming.
“There’ll be an album this year: there’s 14 records so far, we might have a couple of bonus records, but all the recording is basically done and we’re mixing and mastering now,” Liles told Billboard, adding: “We’ll probably start an international tour in October, we’ll come back [to the U.S.]”.
Liles continued to describe the album as “a mixture and an evolution of where he is right now”, stating that there’s a “rock influence” but also “melodic” side to the full-length.
D’Angelo released his last album Voodoo back in 2000.
