DaBaby dropped from Governors Ball Festival 2021
DaBaby will no longer play New York City's Governors Ball Festival in September following homophobic comments made during his Rolling Loud Miami performance last month.
After being dropped by Lollapalooza over the weekend, Governors Ball Festival is the latest music event to drop the rapper from the line-up after he made homophobic comments during his Rolling Loud Miami set.
Last month DaBaby said some homophobic comments while addressing the crowd during his Rolling Loud Miami performance, telling attendees without HIV or AIDS to "put your cellphone light up."
After attempting to apologise for his comments on socials, the rapper's name has been removed from numerous festivals including Manchester's Parklife, Lollapalooza and now Governors Ball.
Governors Ball Festival published a statement this afternoon, which reads: "Founders Entertainment does not and will not tolerate hate or discrimination of any kind. We welcome and celebrate the diverse communities that make New York City the greatest city in the world. Thank you to the fans who continue to speak up for what is right. Along with you, we will continue to use our platform for good."
The festival added in the caption, "Stay tuned for a lineup addition."
