Charli XCX says she was asked to feature on Britney Spears' "Slumber Party" remix
Charli XCX has revealed she was asked to feature on the remix of Britney Spears' "Slumber Party", but it "just couldn’t work out with the timings and everything."
While appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last night (3 March), Charli XCX was asked if she was the first choice to feature on the remix of Britney Spears' "Slumber Party", and what it was like to write songs for Spears' Britney Jean album. In her response, Charli XCX said she's not sure if she was the first choice, but she "did get asked to feature on the "Slumber Party" remix."
Charli XCX continued, "Unfortunately it just couldn't work out with the timings and everything, but I'm really impressed that you know that, that's like very deep, Nardwuar vibes."
"And working on the album was amazing," Charli XCX added. "Nothing ended up on there but I'm honoured anytime Britney calls obviously, what a queen."
Charli XCX was also asked about when fan favourite "Taxi", and when it will be released. She responded, "I don't have an answer for you. But it's a bop and hopefully one day it will be released to the world."
Cohen then asked why she hasn't released it yet, and Charli XCX replied, "It's just a lot of history with the song, and a lot of things to work out. But I love the song, and I love that the fans love the song, so one day it will arrive."
