BOARD's Ryo Muramatsu joins Fontaines DC to play guitar on "Boys In The Better Land" at Tokyo show
On Saturday (18 February) night, Fontaines DC were joined by a fan - who turned out to be BOARD's Ryo Muramatsu - to perform "Boys In The Better Land" during their Tokyo show.
Remember last summer when Fontaines DC brought a 16-year-old fan to the stage at Reading Festival to perform their "Boys In The Better Land" on guitar? Well it's just happened again with another fan during their show at Tokyo's Spotify O-EAST.
Lead vocalist Grian Chatten spotted a fan holding a sign about wanting to play guitar on "Boys In The Better Land" in the crowd, and directed him to someone at the corner of the stage in preparation. Fontaines DC played "Boys In The Better Land" during their encore, and sure enough, that fan joined them on guitar, and it turns out he's in a band called BOARD, who were based in London for a short time before the pandemic, and released their latest single "Cast A Shadow" just last month.
Fontaines DC completed their recent run of shows in New Zealand, Australia and Japan with help from The Altered Hours' Cathal MacGabhann, as their usual guitarist Carlos O'Connell was waiting for his first child to be born.
