Billie Eilish speaks out against Texas abortion law during Austin City Limits set
During Billie Eilish's performance at Austin City Limits over the weekend she spoke out about the recently passed abortion law in the state, revealing she almost "didn't want to do the show".
Just over a month ago Texas passed a controversial new abortion law - one of the strictest in the entire US - that bans abortions after just six weeks of pregnancy, and allows anyone to sue doctors and clinic employees who perform or help arrange the procedure.
Over the weekend Eilish performed at Austin City Limits festival in the state, and during her performance, she took a moment to speak out about the new law. Eilish told the crowd, "When they made that shit a law, I almost didn't want to do the show, because I wanted to punish this fucking place for allowing that to happen here. But then, I remembered that it’s you guys that are the fucking victims, and you deserve everything in the world. And we have to tell them to shut the fuck up. Look at this... My body, my fucking choice!"

Last month Lucy Dacus donated all proceeds from her recent Texas shows to abortion funds in the state. Last week her boygenius bandmate Phoebe Bridgers released her cover of Bo Burnham’s "That Funny Feeling" for Bandcamp Friday, and all proceeds from sales are set to go to Texas Abortion Funds.
