Aphex Twin releases his first album in thirteen years this September, opening up about SYRO in a series of online interviews.
In a recent chat with The Fader, Richard D. James revealed that the oldest track featuring on the LP was recorded around six or seven years ago, also adding that he’s finally “kicked into gear” to release it.
Meanwhile, speaking to Pitchfork, the electronic musician said that the title is pronounced “sigh-ro” and is a made-up word by one of his children, and that Kanye West “tried to fucking rip me off and claim that he’d written” the sample of “Avril 14th” used on “Blame Game”. “They tried to get away with not paying”.
